FROM THE PRESIDENT
like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and the entire
PBAA “family” to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation
to everyone who helped in any way, shape or form to make North On
The Fourth 2018 a big success.
Every year, it seems that new challenges confront us as we are preparing
for NOTF. This year especially as a MAJOR concern was whether or
not, we would have enough help with Setup &Take Down. We put
out a plea to “Polar Bear Nation” and your response
was overwhelming. The turnout for both was great and everything
went very smoothly & quickly. We deeply appreciate you sharing
your time & talents with us.
Thanks again. We are truly, “Polar Bear Strong.”

MUSIC – The choir has
finished for another yeasr after our performance at NOTF. We do
have a problem we’d like your help with. Normally, after we
are done on NOTF, all music is to be left in the boxes provided
on the stage following the program. Even during our rehearsals this
year, we discovered that quite a number of our folders with music
in them were missing. If you sang this year or if you have sang
previously and still have the music that you used, we would ask
that you please return it to us so that we have enough music for
the coming years. Even though our numbers were down this year, we
had some problems of not having enough music for everyone. Please
contact our Choir Manager Jackie Wilson at 740-967-8367. Thanks
for your help.
PBAA MEETINGS –
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday September 12TH. Our
July meeting which is usually our annual pizza party for everyone
who helped at NOTF, was changed to our August meeting so that we
could be able to have everyone involved present for the party. Everyone
is invited and always welcome to attend our regular meetings. We
meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM in Room 122
(Memorabilia Room) at North High School. Come and join.
TEE SHIRT CONTEST WINNER
– Congratulations to Tom Wuichet ’72 for the winning
entry in the Tee Shirt design contest earlier this year. Tom, who
is our PBAA Sergeant at Arms, retired from The Ohio State University
last November after 43 years of service and was presented with a
shirt like this thus, giving us the idea for our new shirt for this
year. A picture of the winning entry is on the outside cover of
THANK YOU –
PBAA extends our heartfelt thanks to Susan Bell and Debbie Blanchard
and their entire family for their donation of memorabilia. Susan
& Debbie are the great-granddaughters of North’s first
Principal, Charles Everett. They graciously gave us a typewriter
used by Mr. Everett and a Tea Service set that was presented to
him and NHS by the Class of 1910. The items were on display in the
Trophy case in the Main hallway at NOTF.
– Thank you to everyone who graciously donated any kind of
memorabilia to PBAA at NOTF. Kathy Snapp ’57 donated a 1932
Polaris Yearbook, an information book from the 50th Reunion of the
Class of ’32, and two programs from the 25-year Reunion. These
folks donated items at NOTF, but a list was not available to print
at this time. Mary Palmer ’49, Judy Becker ’51, Robbie
Beck ’77, Linda Duncan ’72, Sarah Shaffer ’78,
Jack Babbit ’58, and Jeff Brown ’62.
2019 REUNIONS –
As the summer of 2018 passes by, so do the Class Reunions for this
year. It’s not too early to start thinking about your Reunion
for 2019. We have no information yet for next year. We will begin
printing announcements in the November issue of the ROARS. Let’s
hear from the classes of 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, &
1979. Contact us at: email@example.com even if it’s just to
update your contact information.
– What better way to show your school spirit and loyalty than
to purchase North High merchandise from PBAA. We have a number of
different designs of tee shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts, hats,
coffee mugs, and other assorted novelties. Sizes are limited on
some items, so you will need to check on availability. Contact Jackie
Wilson at 740-967-8367 for more information.
YOU HAVE A STORY? – If you have an idea for
a story for us to print in the ROARS, please write it and send it
to us to share with everyone. We are always looking for input and
would love to hear from you. Please email all stories to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
or snail mail to PB ROARS, 718 Fairlawn Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43214.
Deadline for submission for the November issue is October 25th.
