POLAR BEAR HALL OF FAME 2018 – The nominations for this year’s Hall of Fame have closed. The committee will review all nominees and letters will be sent out to the new inductees.

DO YOU REMEMBER? – The year was 1958 and the North High basketball team pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Ohio High School history as the Polar Bears defeated Jerry Lucas and Middletown in the State semi-finals. This year marks the 60th anniversary of that great victory and we would like to commemorate it in the May issue of the ROARS. We would like you to share any memories that you may have with us. Please e-mail us at, or snail mail to PBAA 718 Fairlawn Dr., Columbus, OH 43214.

PBAA MEETINGS – Our January meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather. We hope to resume on February 14th. Anyone & everyone are always welcome to attend our meetings. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM in Room 122 at North High School.

POLAR BEAR MERCHANDISE – What better way to show your school spirit and loyalty than to purchase North High merchandise from PBAA. We have a number of different designs of tee shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts, hats, coffee mugs, and other assorted novelties. Sizes are limited on some items so you will need to check on availability. Contact Jackie Wilson at 740-967-8367 for more information.

PLEASE HELP WITH A NORTH ON THE FOURTH PROBLEM - After the program is over, everything in the auditorium, halls and memorabilia room must come down and be put away. That includes tables and chairs to be collapsed and loaded on carts to be picked up. So many of our regulars now have physical problems or have died. We need a crew of younger guys to help. We are out of the building by around 5 p.m. so it should not interfere with your evening plans. PLEASE contact us and volunteer. We always need more volunteers to help with setup as well. Set up day will be on Monday July 2nd.

DO YOU HAVE A STORY? – If you have an idea for a story for us to print in the ROARS, please write it and send it to us to share with everyone. We are always looking for input and would love to hear from you. Please email all stories to us at or snail mail to PB ROARS, 718 Fairlawn Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43214. Deadline for submission for the May issue is April 25th.
